Dir. Pelaez says Good Values and Unity are the life force of ASEAN community

Lourdes B. Pelaez, Director II of the Civil Service Commission โ€“ Field Office of Bukidnon emphasized that โ€˜good values and unity are the life force of ASEAN community,โ€™ in her inspirational message during the Employeeโ€™s Gala held at the University Convention Center, September 12.

Dir. Pelaez supplemented that to be more meaningful, fruitful, and productive; we must be characterized by these values and oneness, as a country and people, for the ASEAN integration.

The Employeeโ€™s Gala was part of the week-long celebration of the 109th Unified Foundation and Alumni Homecoming with the theme, โ€œUnity in Diversity towards Excellence and Relevance in the ASEAN Region and beyond.โ€

Dir. Pelaez stressed out that we have to cope and keep pace with the core sets of international standards. It is important to bring out the best in scaling the height of excellence in education, research facilities, and technical and professional spheres.

โ€œIf we connect to others of different cultures, practices, and pursuit for the progress, it will accelerate our development and progress,โ€ she added.

In her speech, she also commended CMU as the organizing institution for continually re-assessing its employees, seeing the outstanding performance, and worthy contributions in attaining the goals and objectives of the institution.

Dir. Pelaez conveyed: โ€œOur life shall be anchored by our immutable dignity as a person โ€ฆwe are all public servants, let us live up to the truest meaning of the word.โ€

She supposed that the plaque, trophy, financial, and material rewards are an added value to the real reward, which is the sense of fulfillment, and the spotlight is the real sacrifice, the work behind the scene, the hardship, and the challenges of the exemplary civil servant.

In an exclusive interview, she congratulated the awardees and applauded CMU for the event. She said that the event is what the CSC would like to happen โ€œthat the government offices will have a program on awards.โ€

Moreover, Dr. Jesus Antonio G. Derije, the University President, extended his heartfelt congratulations to the awardees and retirees through an interview with Prof. Ma. Elena E. Derije, the CMULHS Principal and his wife, on his behalf. Pres. Derije was not around during the gala due to an equally important event he attended.

Selected awardees also drawn-out their responses, in which they thanked CMU for the recognition and inspire all employees to be good and committed public servants. The event also aimed to bring together the CMU employees in their most radiant ASEAN fashion themed attire.

Annually, the university draws this kind of event to honor the employees for the outstanding and earnest input to the institution.
