 “The new buildings, paved roads and physical facilities, or by the recognition it rightfully earns for the excellent performance of its students, graduates and faulty. Equally, if not more importantly, is the  difference, it is able to make the lives of the people and the communities around it; the help and contribution, it is able to give in creating meaningful change and in securing a better future for them. If CMU is able to do this, then it has become a truly great institution.” Central Mindanao University Alumni Association, Inc.  (CMUAAI) President Atty. Maribeth S. Estrella-Lopez  said as she gave  her Founding Anniversary Message  during the Alumini Night, Unified Foundation on September 18, 2014 Alumni Homecoming.

She said  that the University  has been in its a-hundred and fourth year of service. Not just a mere service but as well as the provision to mold every dreams and aspirations into reality, integrating the communities that alumni  have and making the future happen and secured as stated in its own theme.

Over  the years, the University’s legacy remained extraordinary and remarkable and the CMUAAI is one of the living proofs that the bequest to provide excellence has been achieved. Through the years, the institution continued to deliver quality education and the products herewith such as the students who continually bring pride and honor, the graduates who are successful and productive in their fields of specialization, the present administration which strive hard to cater convenience and the faculty who ripple the great learning to these students equipping them to be totally prepared in this generations challenges and tasks to be exceptionally accomplished. Indeed CMU is able to realize its vision and mission for more than a century and counting.

As the University celebrates its founding anniversary, Lopez’s words of genuine bliss and wishes for it to continue to be fruitful is something that is very much noteworthy. This  celebration is for all of us who are the living proofs of providing the wonders of knowledge and splendid achievements and success the academe brings. The fulfillment it offers to each and every one clearly gives this founding anniversary astounding and worthy to be proud of.

Finally, the message strikes the relevance of what this year contends to remind us all, that, as we grow and aspire for what we intend our lives and ourselves to be, being a CMUan at heart at all times, standing proud, seek for the best and live by its candid legacy which is embodied in this year’s theme, building dreams, empowering communities, securing the future.
