The Central Mindanao University administration and the whole academic community strongly condemn in the most profound way the senseless loss of innocent lives and injuries sustained by victims of the bus bombing incident at 5:32 in the afternoon of December 9, 2014. It is indeed unfortunate that innocent lives of people were unjustly destroyed by such inhuman act, more so that some of the victims are our students and personnel.
The University administration is committed to provide whatever support it can extend to students and personnel that fall victims to help ease the burden. Rest assured that the University is doing its share in securing the safety of the academic community. The concerned agencies of the government are also doing the best possible to bring out justice for the victims and we are coordinating with the appropriate authorities on this matter.
We sincerely extend our sympathy to the families, relatives, friends, and loved ones who are in grief and pain caused by this despicable event. Such violent act inflicted to the bus passengers is debased of reason. Our hearts bleed for them.
We would like to commend those who immediately responded to help to the extent of sacrificing their own safety to save others. Their commendable acts of solidarity in times of crisis have saved the lives of those in need. At this time of grief and naturally highly charged emotions, we earnestly appeal to everyone not to immediately pass judgment nor spread speculations.
Let this be the moment of prayer and solidarity as a community. We pray to the Almighty to give strength to all of those who fall victims to this ungodly act.
