University Orientation Program held

“Holding a university wide orientation is one of the traditions we have in CMU,” Dr. Anthony M. Penaso, Vice President for Academic Affairs said during the University Orientation Program on July 2, 2013 at the University Convention Center.

Dr. Penaso told the students their need to be informed of the current CMU administration, faculty and staff. “It is but necessary for you to know the administrators, the faculty and staff who will be there to help you in the pursuit of your University education. This is the reason why we conduct this orientation program,” Dr. Penaso conveyed.

Prof. Bobby D. Visayan, the University and Board Secretary, presented the Board of Regents, Administrative Council and other CMU officials. The College Deans also presented all department chairpersons and faculty members. In addition, Prof. Lucerne M. Razalo, University Public Information Office (UPIO) Chief, likewise informed students of the CMU before, now and in the future to guide students how they will act in line with the University Standard.

Moreover, Dr. Penaso challenged the students to make the most of every learning opportunity CMU offers, “The education and training you will get from CMU will shape your life and determine your future. Your skills will be honed further; CMU will be here to serve your needs in varied ways and forms of lifelong learning.” He also added that only those who make the best of themselves and persevere to succeed can ever cope with the challenges of college education.

Dr. Maria Luisa R. Soliven, CMU President, also said that students were privileged to study in CMU since it has proven its performance through the years. “The university has become one of the 22 leading state universities in the country today,” Dr. Soliven disclosed. She informed everyone that CMU has been showcasing high performance and producing topnotchers in professional licensure examinations in various fields.

Furthermore, Dr. Cecilia V. Bautista, Director of Instruction encouraged students to show their inner wit, talents and skills as they study in the University. She told them to depend on God as they continue their journey in CMU (RGPadoginog/UPIO).
