The office aims to:

  1. Implement a viable  and effective  student recruitment program;
  2. Develop admission tests  for secondary, tertiary and post graduate level students;
  3. Impose the qualification requirements of students admitted  to the degree programs of CMU in order  to sufficiently  achieve the targets of the university;
  4. Assess new opportunities  and interests for considerations in the recruitment program;
  5. Evaluate, monitor,  and supervise the various scholarship programs in the tertiary and post graduate  levels;
  6. Provide information, guidance and assistance on matters of recruitment, admissions and placement and;
  7. Coordinate with different academic units and help facilitate in the placement of graduates.

The Office of Admissions, Scholarships and Placement  (OASP)  is a unit under the direct supervision  of the Office of the Vice-President  for the Academic Affairs,  Central Mindanao University,  Musuan Bukidnon. It is headed  by a Director  who will supervise student admissions, scholarships and placement.  The functions are being carried  out in accordance  to the mandate of the university as stipulated  in Republic act  No. 4498 in 1965.

The Office of Admissions, Scholarships and Placement  (OASP)  serves for  the following functions:

First, the office serves as implementing arm of the Admission Tests Board in the secondary,  tertiary and graduate levels, for the recruitment, selection and admission of student applicants.  The office is tasked  to disseminate  information,  conduct information drive on admission and career talk,  administer  and release  entrance examination result, process application for admission   credentials, and utilize  admissions through studies/ research.

Second, the office coordinates scholarships for various colleges for undergraduate  and graduate students. It is tasked to disseminate scholarships provided   by funding agencies that offer scholarships, process  application  credentials  for the scholarship, monitor and evaluate the performance of scholars  through research.

Third,  it assists job placement of  students.  The office shall establish  linkages  with reputable agencies/ companies  for purposes of providing assistance to graduating students in seeking jobs through job fairs. In addition, it will come up with a directory of graduates for dissemination to employing agencies/ companies. The office  shall  also keep  records of  employability of graduates.

As an office  under the direct supervision of the Vice- President for Academic Affairs, this  office is  headed by a Director  who supervises and coordinates  with the Deans of  Colleges namely   College of Agriculture, College of  Arts and Sciences, College of Business and Management, College of Education, College of Engineering, College of Forestry and  Environmental Science, College of Human Ecology, College of Nursing,  and the College of  Veterinary Medicine.

Admissions

General  Admission Policies


All students who have satisfied the quota requirements of the various degree programs of the different colleges based on their CMU College Admission Test (CMUCAT) rating are legible for admission to the university.

CMU College Admission Test (CMUCAT) 
All applicants for admission are required to take the CMUCAT except for freshmen entering the non-degree programs.
Eligible to take the CMUCAT are (1) high school seniors who expect to graduate by the end of the school year, (2) high school graduates who have not taken the CMUCAT, (3) transferees and (4) non-degree course graduates intending to get a degree.
The CMUCAT covers the following areas: English, Science and Mathematics and Non-Verbal.

Specific test dates are to be announced and to be administered at the different testing centers in Mindanao starting August to November of each year.  CLICK HERE for the Entrance Examination Schedules

All entering freshmen, transferees, returnees, entering degree holders and foreign students must satisfy the admission requirements of the university namely:

Entering Freshmen

      1. CMUCAT notice of result
      2. Original Form 138 (High school Report card)
      3. Photocopy of Parent’s income tax return
      4. Original Local Civil Registrar (LCR) Form 1A or NSO
      5. 2 pcs. of 2 x2 ID pictures (with collar)
      6. Certificate of good moral character
      7. Marriage contract (if married)
      8. New Students’ orientation certificate
      9. Medical certificate (University Hospital)

For Transferees

    1. A general weighted average (GWA) of at least 2.5 or its equivalent in all subjects taken fro students coming from ACAP/PASUC member institutions and those recognized by an accrediting agency of the Federation of Accrediting Agencies of the Philippines (FAAP). Students from non-accredited schools must have a general weighted average of 2.0 or better or its equivalent.
    2. CMU College Admission Test (CMUCAT) results
    3. Transcript of Records (TOR) (For evaluation purposes)
    4. Original Local Civil Registrar (LCR) Form 1A or NSO
    5. Honorable Dismissal
    6. Certificate of good moral character from the school
    7. Police clearance
    8. 2 pcs.  2 x 2 ID pictures (with collar)
    9. Medical certificate (University Hospital)
    10. New Students’ orientation certificate
    11. Completion of at least 50% of the total units required in the curriculum which he/she intends to pursue.

For Returnees

    1. Returnees slip from the University Registrar

For Entering Degree Holders (to enroll in the undergraduate program)

    1. A General Weighted Average (GWA) of 2.5 or better or its equivalent.
    2. Transcript of Records (TOR)  (For evaluation purposes)
    3. Original Local Civil Registrar (LCR) Form 1A or NSO
    4. Police clearance
    5. 2 pcs.  2 x 2 ID picture (with collar)
    6. Medical certificate (University Hospital)
    7. Certificate of good moral character from the school or employer
    8. Medical certificate (University Hospital)
    9. Satisfaction of specific requirements of the college in which he/she intends to enroll.

For Foreign Undergraduate Students

    1. Certificate of eligibility and study permit from the Bureau of Immigration and Deportation (BID)
    2. CMU College Admission test (CMUCAT) result
    3. Original Local Civil Registrar (LCR) Form 1A or NSO
    4. 2 pcs 2×2 ID pictures (with collar)
    5. Medical certificate (University Hospital)
    6. New Students’ orientation certificate
    7. Certificate of English Proficiency from the CMU Department of Languages and Literature  for those coming from countries where English is not the medium for instruction. Those who fail should take and pass an Intensive English Proficiency course in the same department.

For Resident and Foreign Graduate  Students

    1. Transcript of Records of degree/s earned
    2. Graduate School Admission Test (GSAT) result
    3. Original Local Civil Registrar (LCR) Form 1A or NSO
    4. 2 pcs 2×2 ID pictures (with collar)
    5. Medical certificate (University Hospital)
    6. Certificate of eligibility and study permit from the Bureau of Immigration and Deportation (BID) – for foreign students only
    7. Certificate of English Proficiency from the CMU Department of Languages and Literature  for those coming from countries where English is not the medium for instruction. Those who fail should take and pass an Intensive English Proficiency course in the same department ( for foreign students only).

REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS (to be submitted during the exam):

  • Evidence of Educational Qualification:
    • High School Graduate — Photocopy of High School Report Card (Form 138)
    • Transferees — Photocopy of Transcript of Records duly evaluated by the CMU Registrar
  • 2 pcs 1×1 or 2×2 ID picture
  • Non-refundable Testing Fee (p125.00)
