Outstanding Jubilarians grateful to CMU’s recognition

As Central Mindanao University marks its 113th Founding Anniversary and Alumni Homecoming, a group of distinguished alumni gathered to be recognized as Outstanding Golden and Silver Jubilarian Awardees with the theme “CMU @ 113: Celebrating a Culture of Excellence & Envisioning Collaboration Through Volunteerism, Good Governance and Shared Leadership” on September 15.

Awardees across various categories from Education, Public Service, Entrepreneurship, Research and Development, Extension and Community Development, to Culture and Arts, stood as living testaments to the transformative power of education.

One of the Outstanding Jubilarians in the field of Education said that the recognition extends beyond personal achievement. It is a testament to the transformative power of education, with CMU playing a pivotal role in shaping their lives and careers. The university’s legacy is now firmly intertwined with tits own, a legacy it carries forward with pride.

Dr. Jeneifer C. Nueva, now the Curriculum and Instruction Director and Dean of Advanced Studies at the University of Southeastern Philippines , attributed her significant educational contributions to the foundational training she received at CMU, which encompassed over two decades as a faculty member and nearly a decade in administrative roles.

The mentorship of Dr. Judith Intong and Dr. Rolito Eballe, former esteemed colleagues at CMU, was acknowledged as instrumental in her professional development.

“I won’t get tired of thanking CMU for the opportunities it has given me. Indeed, CMU’s commitment to excellence in education has been instrumental in preparing me and my fellow alums to become catalysts of positive changes in our chosen specializations,” she asserted.

On behalf of the Silver Jubilarians, Dr. Nueva pledged to uphold the university’s values of excellence, integrity, and social responsibility as they continue to work towards positive change in their respective fields.

“We pledge to continue contributing to society and uphold the values that CMU has instilled in us: to serve our respective communities with ‘mind and true heart’ to bear the tatak CMU education, responsive to the university’s mission,” she added.

Another Outstanding Jubilarian Engr. Leoncio Mariono C. Acma extended his heartfelt appreciation to the CMU Alumni Association Inc (CMUFAI), recognizing the association’s active and dynamic efforts in honoring CMU alumni.

He also expressed gratitude on behalf of his fellow awardees to the network of support that has propelled them to their successes.

“I can say that behind our awards are: conducive working atmosphere and I thank Central Mindanao University administration which happens also to be my employer for 41 long years; supportive colleagues, our companions in our respective departments and college; our officemates, our friends and neighbors, and especially our family who gave the understanding and support in our endeavors,” he concluded.

Meanwhile, University President Dr. Rolito G. Eballe, in his message, recognized the alumni, especially the awardees for their significant contributions to the society for bringing immense honor and fame to the university.

“To all our distinguished CMU Alumni who have blazed trails, broken barriers, and made significant contributions to society, we salute you…you have not only upheld the values instilled in you during your time at CMU but have also taken them to new heights,” Dr. Eballe said.
